Hundreds of students participate in Cross Country meet

CENTRE WELLINGTON – On Oct. 17 hundreds of students from Alma Public School, Salem Public School, Elora Public School, Victoria Terrace Public School, John Black Public School, Ponsonby Public School, J.D. Hogarth Public School and James McQueen Public School participated in a cross country meet at Centre Wellington District High School (CWDHS). Upper Grand District School Board director Peter Sovran offered congratulations to all who took part during a board meeting on  Oct. 24. “Students as young as six years old participated in a variety of races, with Grades 1 and 2 running 1km, 3 and 4 running 1.5, and Grades 5 and 6 completing a 2km race.” The meet was organized John Black Public School teacher Tracey Mooney along with CWDHS teachers Murray Skerrit and Brett Turner and their Grade 10 students.
