GUELPH – A Guelph man faces charges after he was found touching himself outside a childcare centre here last Tuesday.

Guelph Police say that at about 3:40pm staff of a downtown childcare centre observed the man watching children in an outdoor playground.

“When confronted he claimed he was picking up his child and then quickly left the area,” police stated in an Aug. 7 press release.

“A short time later staff found the same male looking through a window after the children had been moved inside. He claimed he was waiting for his wife and then left the area again. Moments later the same staff member observed the male hiding in some bushes and apparently masturbating.”

Officers arrived a short time later and arrested him.

A 30-year-old Guelph man was charged with committing an indecent act and breaching a court order. He was held for a bail hearing on Aug. 7.
