GUELPH – The University of Guelph is hosting the 10th Annual Equine Industry Symposium on Nov. 18 and 19.

It is organized by students in the Bachelor of Bio-Resource Management (BBRM) Equine Management program and will run virtually from 6 to 7pm each day.

Registration is free and open to all members of the equine community.

“Since its launch in 2016, the Equine Industry Symposium has become a cornerstone event for horse owners, trainers, veterinarians and enthusiasts alike,” officials state.

This year’s theme, “Patching the Holes in Our Bucket – Building a Stronger Equestrian Culture,” focuses on fostering change within local communities to inspire compassion, connection and sustainability throughout the broader industry.

Event organizers say “This symposium invites every equestrian to be part of the solution – to contribute their voice and help build a better equine community.

The program will feature a lineup of international speakers, including:

– equitation science consultant Lisa Ashton;

– equine artist and body work practitioner Crispin Parelius;

– professor of sustainable equestrianism Dr. Inga Wolframm;

– past director for Canadian Center for Ethics in Sport Akaash Maharaj;

– hall of fame jockey Eurico Rosa da Silva; and

– an Equine Canada Certified level 2 coach Gary Yaghdjian.
