PALMERSTON – Chief Warrant Officer Jacob Dobson, left, senior cadet/ Regimental Sergeant Major of 1943 Army Cadet Battery, receives the King Charles III Coronation Medal from Major W.Q. Dobson, CD, Area Environmental Officer for Central Ontario Area, in Palmerston at Norwell District Secondary School.

The cadet program is a youth program delivered by the Canadian Armed Forces. It is free to join and is open for youths aged 12 to 19.

The group focuses on citizenship, marksmanship and leadership skills.

Chief Warrant Officer Jacob Dobson retired from the cadet program after serving the program between the ages of 12 and 19.

The King Charles III Coronation Medal is presented for outstanding leadership and citizenship – not only in uniform but also through meaningful contributions to their communities – and making a significant contribution to Canada or to a particular province, territory, region of, or community in, Canada, or attaining an outstanding achievement abroad that brings credit to Canada.

On behalf of Commanding Officer Capt. J. Kiers, Major W.Q. Dobson, CD, Area Environmental Officer for Central Ontario Area, presents the 1943 Army Cadet Battery Drill Cane to Warrant Officer Zack Dobson, right, which signifies the senior leadership role that WO Z. Dobson will be assuming at 1943 Army Cadet Battery.

WO Z. Dobson will be the new senior cadet/ Regimental Sergeant Major of 1943 Army Cadet Battery.
