Jane McDonald awarded Ontario Horticultural Association District Service Award
Horticultural award - Jane McDonald, front right, was awarded the Ontario Horticultural Association (OHA) District Service Award on Sept. 10 in a surprise presentation made by District 7 director Kathy Bouma, front left. Joining the presentation were, back row from left, Jean Gordon, secretary and treasurer of the Guelph Township Horticultural Society; Sylvia Grant, president, Guelph Township Horticultural Society; and Frances Bouma, district secretary. The award is normally presented during the association’s annual general meeting in April, but due to COVID-19, the event was cancelled. The award is for an outstanding member who has a minimum of 15 years as an OHA member and has contributed to both to their own horticultural society and to their district. McDonald was nominated by her colleagues in the Guelph Township Horticultural Society. District 7, representing Wellington and Dufferin counties, has not presented this award for a number of years and is pleased to honour McDonald for her years of dedication, officials say.
