KINGHORN, Donald Duncan

of Elora, passed away at home on Friday, August 9th, 2024, just shy of his 90th birthday. Beloved husband of 53 years to the late Jill Kinghorn (2011). Loving father of Greg and his wife Connie and Julie and her husband Scott. Cherished grandfather of Jessica (Jeff), Rebecca (Stewart) and Erik (Emmy). Proud great-grandfather of Josie and Mabel. Predeceased by siblings Lyall Kinghorn and Joyce Barrett. Early in Don’s career, he was a salesman in the dental industry which had him visiting many small practices throughout rural Southern Ontario during the 1950’s and 60’s. Later, Don joined his brother at Air Canada in the cargo division where he was involved in the transportation of large and small animals all over the world. Following retirement, Jill and Don experienced life in Meaford and Fergus, before ultimately settling in Elora. The family would like to thank the numerous local community members who formed valued friendships with Don following Jill’s passing as well as Dr. Beamish and the staff at Vista Medical Group for their support over the years. Funeral service will be held at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, 280 St. David St. S., Fergus, ON on Saturday, August 17th, 2024 at 12pm, with a reception to immediately follow. Visitation will take place on the same date from 11-12pm. A private family burial service will occur following the reception.
