KOOBS, Gerrit “Jerry”
Of Drayton went home to be with his Lord surrounded by the love of his family at the Palmerston and District Hospital on Tuesday, October 28, 2025 in his 95th year. Loving husband of Trudy (Hesselink) for 72 years. Dear father of John and Nancy Koobs of Palmerston, the late Janet Koobs, Joyce and Lonnie Craig of Sechelt B.C. and Garry Koobs of Palmerston. Cherished grandpa of Christina and Ken Labbe, Peter and Angela Koobs, Gregory and Alexandra Koobs, Michelle and Jarid Tanner; Sherry Farnese-Jonkman, Kristen and Sukh Sandhu and Brandy James. Papa to Gracie Jo, Silas, Levi, Jude, Katie, Ezra, Daniel, Emmanuel, Eden, Jonas, Gideon, Elizabeth, Mackenzie, Payton, Bryce, Kingston and Bryer. Brother of Annie and Gerrit Roos, brother-in-law of Bert and Mary Hesselink. Fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by his siblings Willemien and Gerrit Ruwhof, Joke and Jan te Kloeze. The family received friends at the Drayton Reformed Church, 74 Wellington Street, South, Drayton on Monday November 3, 2025 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00pm. The funeral service was be held in the Drayton Reformed Church on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at 11:00am followed by interment in Drayton Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy donations to Drayton Reformed Church or Palmerston Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to the Heritage Funeral Home, Drayton.
