KURTZ, Mary Katherine “Kathie”
It is with great sadness the family of Kathie Kurtz announces her peaceful passing on Monday, November 20, 2023 at Groves Memorial Hospital at the age of 74. Loving Sister of Sara, Lisa and Peter (Barbara) Kurtz. Dear Aunt to 5 nieces and nephews. Proud Great Aunt of 6. Predeceased by her parents Phillip and Mary Kurtz. Kathie’s profession was as a rural planner. She was a devoted reader and book collector, had a love of horses and a passion for the arts. Kathie was an independent woman. She was an avid and courageous world traveler. She volunteered locally and was a supporter of numerous charities. She will be deeply missed. Visitation was held on Thursday, November 23, 2023 at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, 280 St. David St. South, Fergus, from 11:00am – 1:00pm, with a service that began at 1:00pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Reception followed. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Groves Memorial Hospital or the Centre Wellington Food Bank.
