NORWELL – The Norwell District Secondary School Varsity Girls hockey team started the season in the Listowel Lightning Early Bird Tournament on Nov. 15. The team played hard in game one to come back and defeat Listowel by a score of 2-1.

In game two Norwell scored some late-game goals but came up short to Mitchell, losing 4-3. In the final game of the day, with less than a minute left in the third period, Bella H. shot one from the point to end it in a 1-1 tie. Other Norwell goal scorers were Megan P., Liberty T. and Makayla S. Great saves were made in net by both Haylie S. and Lily M. Team members were set to lace up their skates next in Norwell’s home tournament on Nov. 28.
