Local dancers place at ScotDane Canada Championship

HARRISTON – Two local highland dancers recently travelled to the ScotDane Canada Championship Series (SDCCS) held in Ottawa that attracted over 1,000 dancers from across Canada and the world. The event took place July 4 to 9. Ellena Ross, left, and Charlotte Tanner represented the Adele Campbell School of Highland Dance based in Harriston and received fourth place for their Pre-Premier Duet. The girls came away with other awards in the Novice category including Ross seventh place in Trophy Fling, and Tanner fifth in Strathspey and Highland Reel, fifth Flora, eighth Scottish Lilt and ninth Sword dance. The pair looks forward to participating in the upcoming Fergus Scottish Festival and Highland Games, states officials.
