WELLINGTON COUNTY  –  To align with a provincial decision to end proof of vaccination requirements as of March 1, Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Medical Officer of Health Dr. Nicola Mercer is rescinding an instruction letter specifically addressing those entering facilities used for sport and recreational fitness activities, issued in September of last year.

Although provincial regulations at the time were limited to requiring those participating in sports who were over 18 years-old and patrons 12 and over to prove vaccination, Mercer’s instruction expanded the reach to include anyone 12 and over participating in sport activity and went beyond spectators to include all volunteers, coaches, instructors, coordinators, trainers, officials, and organizers.
