LONG, Harold

Harold Gordon Long, formerly of Holstein, passed away at Louise Marshall Hospital, Mount Forest on Sunday, November 6th, 2022 in his 98th year. Beloved husband of the late Doris Long (nee Holmes).  Harold is survived by his daughter Sheri and her husband Bruce Maxted; granddaughter Heather Maxted and her husband Simon Ruiz; grandson Scott Maxted and his wife Adrianne Hopwood; great-granddaughter Rosalind Ruiz; siblings, Laverne Long and Thelma Vanner, Paul and Carol Long, Carl Long; and sister-in-law Miriam Long. Fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Harold is predeceased by his parents Gordon and Della Long; siblings Jack Long, Delbert Long, Wallace Long, Robert Long, Beverly Long, Ronald Long in infancy, Dorothy Aitken, and Mona Bell; sisters-in-law Jean Long, Marion Long, and Thelma Bramhill; brothers-in-law David Aitken, Arthur Bell, and Ivan Bramhill. A funeral service celebrating Harold’s life will be held at the Egremont Optimist Community Centre, 392137 Grey Road 109, Holstein on Friday, November 11th at 2pm, with visitation being held prior to the service from 1 – 1:45pm.  Interment at Holstein Cemetery.  As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to Holstein Presbyterian Church or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
