The Legion in Harriston was the place to be on Oct. 24 for the diabetes luncheon that kicks off the annual residential door-to-door appeal campaign.

Over 60 supporters appreciated the soup and sandwich luncheon. Four kinds of squares were offered for dessert.

The meal was prepared and served by Liz Dowler, Olive Mock, Ethel Forbes, Fran Rogers and Bonnie Garnes.

Lunch co-ordinator Cora Anne Morden appreciated the support and was pleased to see Nicole Holder and Lori Gregory from the Diabetes office in Kitchener attend the event. They invited everyone to attend the Diabetes and You Take Charge Expo in Kitchener on Nov. 17 and encouraged people to sign up early at 519-742-1481 ext. 221.

The Diabetes Information Centre is open Tuesday and Friday afternoons from 1:30 to 4:30pm at 94 B Elora St. S. in Harriston. Volunteers can be reached at 519-338-3181 or npnw@diabetes.ca
