Main Street South in Rockwood to be closed for five weeks

ROCKWOOD – A portion of Main Street South (Highway 7) in Rockwood will be closed for road repair and watermain replacement.

Starting Aug. 3, and for approximately five weeks, the street will be closed from Frederick Street to Harris Street (Wellington Road 50), with no through traffic.

There will also be no access onto Main Street South from Carrol Street.

During this closure, only local traffic will be permitted, with all other traffic detoured from Highway 7 to  Eramosa/Milton Townline to Wellington Road 44.

The township has coordinated with GO Transit and for the duration of the closure the stop south of Harris Street will not be serviced.  Patrons must utilize the stops at Harris Street and Main Street South. For more information contact GO Transit.

Residents whose garbage will be affected will receive a letter from the township with further instructions.
