MATTHEWS, Margaret Elizabeth (nee Evans)
Of Mount Forest, formerly of Guelph passed away peacefully at Louise Marshall Hospital on Wednesday, January 10, 2024. Dear mother to Michael Matthews of Mount Forest, Robyn Matthews of Guelph, Eric Matthews (Leslie West) of Mississauga, and Shawn Matthews of Medicinehat, AB. Beloved grandmother of 14 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers David Evans of Florida, John Evans (Marj Regan) of Guelph and sister Sue Evans (Ken) Phoenix of Bellwood. Predeceased by her husband Christopher Matthews from Owen Sound formerly Guelph, parents Jack and Dora Evans from Guelph and her sister Dorathy (Dave) Pletsch from Guelph and daughter-in-law Kim Matthews from Bellwood formerly Guelph. Margaret was a correctional officer at the Guelph Correctional Centre. Friends will be received at Wall-Custance Funeral Home & Chapel, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph, Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at 1:30pm. Funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at 2:30pm. Reception to follow in the Wall-Custance Family Reception Centre.
