HILLSBURGH – The Melville Boys enters its final weekend at Century Church Theatre after a successful two-week run.

Written by Canadian playwright Norm Foster and directed by Peter King, this production has struck a powerful chord with audiences, bringing them to their feet in laughter, tears and appreciation, officials state.

Taking place in a small Canadian countryside cabin, the story follows two brothers, Owen and Lee, as they find themselves entangled in an unexpected whirlwind of laughter, emotion and exploration that results after meeting two local sisters, Mary and Loretta.

Sarah Whitehead (Loretta) and Galen Armbruster (Owen) give comedic performances as the younger, irresponsible siblings, and Jenessa Doherty (Mary) and Josh Oatman (Lee) deliver emotionally resonant performances with just the right amount of comedic twists.

On being involved with the show, producer Mike Robins reflects, “It’s been a true joy to watch the cast bring these characters to life so beautifully, and even more rewarding to see how deeply the audience connects with them.”

Lee, Mary, Owen and Loretta return to the stage this weekend for the final set of performances on Sept. 19 at 7:30pm, Sept. 20 at 7:30pm, and Sept. 21 at 2pm.

Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at centurychurchtheatre.com, at the  theatre door or through its box office at 519-855-4586.

The performing arts theatre is located at 72 Main St., in Hillsburgh.
