METZGER, Eugene Roy (Sonny)
Of Palmerston passed away peacefully at the Caressant Care Nursing Home, Listowel on Saturday, November 18, 2023 in his 91st year. Beloved husband of June (Smith) for 68 years. Dear father of Paul and Tammy Metzger of Palmerston, Wayne and Bonnie Metzger of Palmerston, Gerald and Terry Metzger of Palmerston, Doug and Tracey Metzger of Mordon Manitoba, Brian and Brenda Metzger of Amerstview, Ont. Grandfather of Tiffany, Stacey, Lindsay, Janet, Steven, Steph, Jeff, Jenilynn, Matt, Amanda, Jordan, Jamie, Chris, Tyler, Cara, Cody and Amber. Sonny will be remembered by his 31 great grandchildren, his Twin sister Shirleen Pellett and brothers Lloyd Metzger, Floyd and Dianne Metzger all of Palmerston. Fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by his parents Gordon and Eva Metzger and brothers Ronald, Charlie, Elwood and Laverne “Benny” and Great Granddaughter Emma Metzger Infant daughter of Jeff and Maggie. To honour Sonny’s wishes cremation has taken place. There will be a private family service with Jeff Hawkins at the Funeral Chapel. Please join the family for A Celebration of Life at the Frank Lambier Legion, Branch 409, Palmerston on Sunday, December 3, 2023 from 2pm to 4pm for a casual afternoon to share memories. As expressions of sympathy donations to the Frank Lambier Legion Branch 409, James Street United Church or the Palmerston Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
