CLIFFORD – New residents to Clifford were encouraged to pre-register for the Newcomer’s Pop-Up Reception at 6pm on June 22 at the Clifford Rotary Celebration Square.

Minto Mayor George Bridge, economic development manager Belinda Wick-Graham, and Minto Chamber of Commerce business development co-ordinator Somer Antonopoulos welcomed families and single folks who now call Clifford their home town.

The trio answered questions about the community and handed out welcome bags filled with goodies donated by Clifford merchants. Residents could also pick up a blue box, a green bin, and indoor compost bin.

Some of the newcomers included Peter and Janet Firth, who moved from Guelph with their children Ashley and Matthew and are finding they enjoy village life.

Andrew Robinson moved from Cookstown and likes the area. Danielle and Klye Clemmer moved with their children, Maggie, Hannah, and Phoebe, for Kyle’s new job with the Town of Minto public works department.
