ORANGEVILLE – The RAM Rodeo held its 2024 awards ceremony in Orangeville on March 22.

Mitchel Walker from Mapleton was the season champion for points as well as winning the season championship.

Walker received a belt buckle for winning the season with the most points and a belt buckle and coat for winning the championship final in the novice division.

He has been competing in the Ontario Rodeo for five years.

He rode bulls for three years before switching to bronc riding.

RAM Rodeo travels around the province on weekends offering participants the chance to compete for points.

There were 17 rodeos in 2025 that took place as far away as New Liskeard and throughout southern Ontario including Erin, Orangeville, Exeter and Grey Highlands.

Erin will also be hosting a rodeo again in 2025. The top riders compete in the championship rodeo, held annually in Ancaster, at which the overall winner is determined.
