MORRISSEY, Annie “Blanche” (née Clarke)

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Annie “Blanche” Morrissey, of Fergus, Ontario, on May 24th, 2024, at age 85, with her family at her side. Blanche was a caring wife, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, friend and neighbour who was always there when we needed her the most, offering support, wisdom, and love in abundance. Blanche was born to Philip and Selena (Watton) Clarke, on September 22nd, 1938, in Delbys Cove, Newfoundland. Blanche is survived by her husband, of 63 years, Neil Morrissey, of Fergus, Ontario. Blanche is survived by her daughter, Debbie (Vic) Foote, son, Darrell (Cathy) Morrissey; grandsons, Jason Foote and Jamie Foote; great-grandchildren, Dakota Foote, Jacob Foote and Bentley Foote; sisters, Eva (Harold) Sheaves, Carrie Legendre and brothers, Max (Eileen) Clarke and Derek (Cynthia) Clarke. Blanche was predeceased by brother Hedley (Joanne) Clarke. Blanche worked as an upholstery seamstress at Simmons in Elora. Blanche loved spending time with family, baking delicious desserts for family, friends and neighbours; she also loved to travel across Canada and listening to Daniel O’Donnell. At Blanche’s request no service will be held. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff, and Dr. John Stickney, at Wellington Terrace Long Term Care Home for their care and compassion.
