Mount Forest resident succumbs to injuries from March 1 crash
CENTRE WELLINGTON – A 47-year-old Mount Forest resident who was involved in a serious crash here earlier this month has died.
Wellington County OPP officials say emergency crews responded to the collision, on Wellington Road 18 east of Fergus, on March 1 at about 12:45pm.
"The driver was transported to hospital but later died," police stated in a three-sentence press release issued on March 18.
The press release does not include any information about:
- how many vehicles/people were involved in the crash;
- when the Mount Forest resident died; or
- the identity of the deceased.
It's also unclear why the OPP did not issue a press release about the collision when it occurred.
Social media posts by police on the day of the incident state only that Wellington Road 18 was closed between 3rd and 4th Lines due to the crash.
