MOUNT FOREST – The Mount Forest Thrift Shop is moving to a new location on Main Street.

The store will now be located at 184 Main Street North, the former home of Plumes Main Street Interiors. The thrift shop was previously located at 134 Main Street South.

Brenda Harr

is is the general manager of the Mount Forest Thrift Shop.

“There is no official re-opening date as of now,” Harris said.

“We will be moving into our new location around May 17-18, and are hoping to be open by June 1, if not sooner. However, the June 1 re-opening date is pending the COVID restrictions we’re in now.”

Harris also said the store hopes to host their grand re-opening sometime in July.

Because of the current pandemic restrictions, the store has been closed since April 7.  Harris said the store will not be accepting donations until they re-open, but encourages people to donate when they can.  Donations of clothing, toys, and household items are gratefully received.

“All of our donations go toward Cancer Patient Services Corporation and the Louise Marshall Hospital Foundation,” Harris said.

“We have almost 100 volunteers, most of whom are seniors.”
