Wellington North council and staff members, as well as Perth-Wellington MPP Randy Pettapiece, officially reopened Murphy Park here on April 20.

The township held a ribbon cutting to mark the reopening of the Mount Forest park following accessibility upgrades to the playground structure.

The township received a $66,000 Ontario 150 community capital grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation to install new playground equipment, as well as to make modifications to the washrooms and basketball court.

“It’s nice to celebrate this renewal of this playground with this fresh new equipment that has been sponsored by the Ontario 150 program,” said Mayor Andy Lennox.

“It’s great ... it’s accessible, for all members of our community to come out and interact out here.”

The grant was awarded in late 2016.
