BRUCEDALE – Guelph-Eramosa council has given approval in principle for the site plan of a new industrial building at 7367 Wellington Road 30, which will be used for the sale and servicing of heavy equipment.

In a report on Jan. 27, Wellington County planner Zach Prince said all the commenting agencies have signed off on the proposal for Coldpoint Industrial Park, but the county engineering department was awaiting a final traffic report in the next few days.

Prince said the county is satisfied the road will not require upgrades.

The plan includes a new building on a 1.7-acre section of the property, which is across the road from the Marden library, with 25 parking spaces, landscaping and tree buffering.

Adjacent areas will continue to have existing uses, with concrete batching and aggregate sales and shipping at the St. Mary’s Canadian Building Materials (CBM) plant and pit.

Council delegated authority to CAO Ian Roger to approve the finalized plan.
