PUSLINCH – The work on the Highway 6 mid-block interchange through Puslinch, just south of Guelph, has advanced to a new phase.

The new bridge over the Hanlon Expressway (Highway 6) just south of Maltby Road is complete and is now in use and access to the Hanlon from Maltby Road and Concession 4 is closed.

To get to Wellington Road 34, travelers must now use the new off-ramps and the new mid-block connection road to access Concession 7 on the east of the Hanlon, or a new road, named Wellington Road 54, on the west.

As part of the new phase of the project, the intersection of Wellington Road 34 and the Hanlon is now closed as another new bridge over the Hanlon is constructed.

Access to local properties on Wellington Road 34 will be maintained through construction but the road from Concession 7 to the Hanlon will be closed to all other traffic.

This work is expected to wrap up next summer.

The Ministry of Transportation project has been billed as the second phase of a future Highway 6 bypass around Morriston, which is located on Highway 6, south of Highway 401.

The first phase included improvements to Concession 7.

There is currently no schedule for when work at Morriston will commence.
