A short-notice, late evening closed session of council on July 30 did not result in any action, the township’s CAO states.

The Community News was advised via email that afternoon that council would hold a special meeting at 9pm.

The meeting was closed to discuss “personal matters about an identifiable individual, including municipal or local board employees.”

Contacted by the Community News on July 31,  Mapleton CAO Manny Baron stated in an email there was “Not a lot to report except the resolution, that we go into closed session.”

Baron added, “I understand the timing of the meeting was unusual, however, farm season is in full force which is why it was so late.”
