FERGUS – Four months after bullets ripped into a home here in the middle of the night, no charges have been laid by police and OPP officials are saying little about the incident.

“The investigation is ongoing as detectives continue to follow up with leads," Wellington County OPP spokesperson Josh Cunningham stated on June 1 in response to an Advertiser request for an update.

He added, "No charges have been made.”

Police responded to a weapons call at a home on Millburn Boulevard in Fergus on Feb. 8 at 1am.

“Initial reports indicated that an unknown individual (or individuals) had fired multiple rounds at an occupied residential home,” police stated in a press release at the time.

Residents were home during the incident and while no one was injured, Cunningham confirmed at the time, “There was damage to the front of the house and extending into the living space."

He noted it was “too early to identify if there were multiple guns or a motivation" – and he did not provide any update on those aspects in a brief email on June 1.

Anyone with information can contact the Wellington County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
