Norwell DSS students receive athletic awards
The Senior Athletes of the Year award went to Reed McBeth, left, Tory Schieck, middle, and Bernie Hale. McBeth was the leading goal scorer for the school’s hockey team for a second consecutive year and his leadership helped guide the team to the District 4 finals and CWOSSA, officials say. Schieck excelled in three different sports throughout the year, playing volleyball, soccer and curling. She was a key part of the CWOSSA championship curling team after throwing the closest draw to the button in all of OFSAA, officials added. Hale proved to be a dynamic and prolific scorer on the basketball team, averaging over 25 points a game, officials say. He also competed in badminton. Submitted photo
