PALMERSTON – After going undefeated in pool play on Feb. 27, the Norwell District Secondary School girls curling team defeated John F. Ross from Guelph in the semi-finals 11-2.

In the Central Western Ontario Secondary Schools Association (CWOSSA) final, Norwell started slowly, falling behind 4-0 as the Owen Sound skip made some fantastic shots in the first two ends.

But the Norwell girls battled back to take the lead in the sixth end and kept Owen Sound to a single in the seventh.

With the game tied and Norwell controlling the hammer in the final end, on her first shot, Norwell skip Ellie R came around the guard to place her rock near the button.

The Norwell girls won the CWOSSA regional championship.
