One person dead after three-vehicle crash near Ariss

GUELPH/ERAMOSA – A Waterloo resident is dead after a serious three-vehicle crash here on Friday morning.

Emergency crews responded to the scene, on Wellington Road 51 near Ariss, on Feb. 28 at about 6:45am.

"The collision involved two pick-up trucks and a sedan," stated a Wellington County OPP press release.

"As a result, one of the drivers was pronounced deceased on scene. No other injuries were reported."

Police later stated the deceased person was  a 28-year-old from Waterloo.

Wellington Road 51 was closed between 4th and 6th Lines and police expect it to "remain closed" for several hours.

The OPP stated in a social media post at 1:24pm that the road had been reopened.
