CENTRE WELLINGTON – A local teen is dead following a two-vehicle crash north of Inverhaugh on Tuesday morning.

Wellington County OPP officials say emergency crews responded to a collision between a car and minivan, on Wellington Road 21 near 4th Line East in Centre Wellington, just after 7am on Dec. 31.

The two lone drivers were taken to a local hospital, where one was pronounced dead, an OPP news release stated.

The second driver was later airlifted to a Hamilton hospital for injuries that are not considered life-threatening.

Police have not released the name of the teen who died, but said the 18-year-old is a resident of Centre Wellington.

Family friends later identified him as Nicholas Law.

The road was closed between Wellington Road 7 and Sideroad 4 while police investigated the cause of the collision.

Police have not yet said what may have caused the crash.

Anyone with information can contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
