Orton celebrates Canada Day

ORTON  – The Orton Community Association is hosting its annual Canada Day chicken dinner and fireworks display at the Orton Community Park July 1 from 5 to 10pm.

Sittings are available for 5 and 6pm with a seating capacity of 600.

The event is e-transfer or cash only and half of a chicken or a double dark quarter will cost $22. Both options will be served with a baked potato, coleslaw and a roll, with strawberries, pound cake and whipped cream for dessert.

The dinner will be followed by games, silent auction, T-shirts for sale and then a fireworks display.

Take-out dinners are available by request. Organizers ask those getting takeout to bring their own containers to reduce waste.
