PALMERSTON – The Palmerston Curling Club is hosting the Ontario Elementary Curling Championship from April 3 to 6.

The club will welcome 64 teams from across the province to participate.

Local teams from curling clubs in Perth and Wellington Counties have had a strong history of participation in this event.   In addition to the curling club ice, the Palmerston arena will be transformed into a four-sheet curling surface to allow for all games to be played at the same location.

“This event will provide elementary aged curlers with a chance to meet new friends and create lasting memories, while staying active and enjoying some friendly curling competition,” officials state.

The Blessings to You Centre Thrift and Gift Stores, Palmerston is contributing $2,500 “to make the Ontario Elementary Curling Championships a memorable event for the youth participants as well as having a positive impact on the surrounding community,” officials state.

Everyone is welcome to be spectators during the championship event.
