Police beat: Woman steals $400 worth of products

ELORA – Police are again looking for help to catch a shoplifter, but won’t say where the incident occurred.

Wellington County OPP officials stated that on June 8 at about 3:15pm, a woman left an Elora store without paying for about $400 worth of products she had concealed.

The suspect is described as female, about 50-years-old, 5’5”, heavier set, wearing a long cream/white coloured skirt, a cream/white coloured jacked and a gold top with short dark hair, and thick square black glasses.

Disobeyed stop sign

CENTRE WELLINGTON  – On March 29 at about 3:30pm a Wellington County OPP officer monitoring traffic on Wellington Road 21 stopped  the driver of a yellow SUV that was allegedly travelling above the posted 50km/h speed limit.

A  39-year-old driver from Kitchener was charged with driving a vehicle without insurance, failing to surrender a licence, disobeying a stop sign, and speeding and driving without a valid permit. The defendant is to appear in Guelph court on July 17.

Suspended driver

GUELPH –  On April 1 at about 3:45pm a Wellington County OPP officer monitoring traffic on the Hanlon Expressway stopped the driver of a grey coupe.

A 23-year-old driver from Guelph was charged with driving while suspended, driving with a plate improperly displayed, driving without a valid permit, failing to stop for an emergency vehicle and driving without insurance.

The defendant is to appear in Guelph court on July 17.
