FERGUS – Police are looking for clues, including video surveillance, that could help apprehend the person(s) responsible for firing bullets at a house here on Tuesday.

Wellington County OPP officers responded to a weapons call at a home on Millburn Boulevard in Fergus on Feb. 8 at 1am.

"Initial reports indicated that an unknown individual (or individuals) had fired multiple rounds at an occupied residential home," police stated in a press release.

"OPP responded and confirmed that no one was injured."

Police say the local Crime Unit and West Region Identification Services "are currently processing evidence," adding, "There are no concerns for public safety at this time."

OPP spokesperson Josh Cunningham told the Advertiser it is "too early to identify if there were multiple guns or a motivation."

He confirmed on social media that people were home at the time of the incident.

"There was damage to the front of the house and extending into the living space," he stated in an email.

"Investigators are still determining the number of rounds..."

The OPP is asking anyone in the area to check surveillance, dash-cams or door-cams for footage that may help with the investigation.

Anyone with information can contact the Wellington County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
