Police investigating after truckload of webcams worth $500,000 stolen

GUELPH-ERAMOSA – Police are seeking information after someone stole about $500,000 worth of webcams from a business here.

On Oct. 26, Wellington County OPP officers responded to the reported theft at Transport N Service on Whitelaw Road.

Police say that at about 1am "a light coloured sedan, similar to a Ford Focus, was captured on video surveillance driving slowly past the business.

"Shortly thereafter a dark red or black tractor pulling the stolen trailer, loaded with $500,000 worth of webcams, was seen leaving the lot at a high rate of speed."

The empty stolen trailer was recovered on Columbia Street East in the Region of Waterloo later that day at about 1:30pm.
