FERGUS – Police are asking for help to identify three men responsible for stealing 32 Apple watches valued at over $16,000 from the Walmart here last week.

Wellington County OPP officials say the three suspects left in a black SUV following the heist on March 15 at about 4:30pm.

"Investigators are asking for the public's assistance in identifying the persons responsible for the theft," police stated in a March 22 press release.

The release did not identify the business and police refused to do so when asked by the Advertiser to confirm which store was targeted.

“We won’t be identifying the victim,” OPP spokesperson Josh Cunningham stated in an email sent on March 25, three days after the newspaper inquired about it.

However, a video posted to the OPP's Twitter (now called X) page clearly identifies Walmart as the target, as at least two logos for the multi-billion dollar corporation are visible in the video.
