Police seek suspect after stolen truck crashes into home

GUELPH/ERAMOSA – Police are seeking help to find the person responsible for driving a stolen vehicle into a house here on Sunday.

Emergency crews responded to the scene, on Conservation Road near Highway 6, northwest of Guelph, on April 6 at about 2:30am.

“Initial reports indicated that a black pickup truck had left the roadway and struck a single-family dwelling causing extensive structural damage to the home,” stated an April 7 press release from the Wellington County OPP.

“Investigation revealed that the pickup truck had been reported stolen earlier from a business nearby.

“The occupant(s) of the vehicle fled the scene prior to police arrival. The resident of the home was uninjured.”

Police are asking anyone in the area who witnessed anything suspicious or who has video surveillance or dashcam footage to contact police at 1-888-310-1122.
