Police seek to identify suspect who stole $1,000 in products from Fergus store
Police say this suspect stole about $1,000 in merchandise from a Fergus store on March 2. Submitted photo

FERGUS – Police are asking for the public's help to identify the person responsible for stealing close to $1,000 in products from a store here last week.

In a March 5 press release, Wellington County OPP officials stated that at about 8pm on March 2 a suspect "entered the store, placed nearly $1000 in product in a black duffle bag and left the store, making no attempt to pay for the items."

Police did not initially identify the business targeted.

Based on a suspect photo provided by the OPP, it appears the store is the Fergus LCBO on Parkside Drive West, just off St. David Street North (Highway 6).

The Advertiser asked the OPP about the store name on March 5 but had not heard back by March 8.

Anyone with any information can call police at 1-888-310-1122.

To remain anonymous call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or submit at www.csgw.tips.
