ERIN – The future of parks, recreation and culture rest in residents’ hands as a new survey is released by the town.

The Recreation Community Survey was launched on Feb. 17, and will remain open until early May.

According to town director of community services Jennifer McPetrie, the survey serves three key purposes:

to validate data collected in a 2021 community centre survey;

to identify which recreation options are most important to residents, including programming and facility amenities; and

to gather insights that will help make informed decisions about gaps in the community and how best to plan for the future of parks, recreation, and culture.

“We are aiming for broad community participation and will also be offering in-person engagement opportunities, including at local events like the Home and Garden Show in April (more details to come),” McPetrie told the Advertiser in a Feb. 23 email.

The collected data will be analyzed and shared with Erin council in the fall.

The survey can be found on the Erin Engaged website at erinengaged.erin.ca.
