WELLINGTON NORTH – A little girl who passed away one year ago continues to inspire many in this community - and beyond - to make a difference.

Hayden Foulon of London, passed away at age 7 on Oct. 20, 2019, after a battling leukemia for several years.

To celebrate the anniversary of her death, or what officials are calling her first "angelversary," the Hayden’s Hope Foundation is organizing a Jammies for Hayden event.

On Oct. 20, everyone is encouraged to wear pyjamas for the entire day and make a $2 donation to the foundation, which raises money and awareness for families facing childhood cancer battles.

"This is what Hayden would have wanted," mother Lindsay Foulon wrote on the foundation's Facebook page.

"She liked when people came together and laughed and had fun together.

"And while COVID-19 is forcing us all to be apart, the next best thing is to see all of your faces wearing Jammies for Hayden with photos.

"She would honestly think it was the best thing ever."

Lindsay, who was born and raised in Mount Forest, is asking residents, schools and businesses to take part in the event.

She explained the idea was inspired by children like Hayden, who spend a lot of time in their pyjamas while in oncology units for treatment.

"So help us share the love and support to all of the kids in the hospital, and let's also show Hayden how much we love and miss her by wearing your PJs," she wrote.

Participants are asked to make a donation on the foundation website on Oct. 20 and also to share their photos on social media.
