BRUCEDALE - Resurfacing sections of the 6th and 7th Lines in Guelph-Eramosa is expected to be completed well under the budgeted amount of $1.3 million.

Guelph-Eramosa council accepted a bid of $1.2 million on April 15 from Cox Construction. Any savings will be held in reserves for future projects.

Other bids ranged from $1.4 to $1.6 million.

The job, funded from gas tax reserves, includes pulverizing and resurfacing 13.8 km of roadway with hot mix asphalt, with some minor road grade adjustments.

Some sections of both roads were already pulverized back to gravel temporarily after flooding last year. One lane will remain open on each road during the summer construction period.
