Road superintendent retiring; deputy clerk promoted

ERIN - Town of Erin road superintendent Greg Delfosse is retiring this month after 31 years of service in the municipal sector.

Delfosse said he has enjoyed working with the people of Erin, but he is ready to move on to other interests. He will collect his municipal pension and seek work in the private sector.

Delfosse was appointed to the Erin position in May 2016, after the departure of Larry Van Wyck. He had worked previously for the City of Brampton and been a lecturer at the Guelph Road School.

In 2016, the Town of Erin hoped to fill a senior engineer position that would oversee roads, water and eventually wastewater. It could not hire a candidate, but Mayor Allan Alls said the strategy is still a possibility.

The Ontario Clean Water Agency manages most aspects of the Erin water system, and could be contracted to handle wastewater.

Another change for the town operation is the appointment on May 21 of Lisa Campion as clerk. She had been doing the job since the departure of Dina Lundy, under the deputy clerk title.

The clerk is responsible for the procedures of council.
