ROBINSON, Charles (Chas) Joseph Fredrick

Of Fergus, passed away peacefully with family by his side, on Saturday, November 4th, 2023, at St. Joseph’s Health Centre, Palliative Care Unit, Guelph at age 78. Survived by his children, Jennifer Hill (Joe) of Fergus; Joe (Kim) of Belwood; Joanne DeWitt (Al) of Belwood; mother to his children, Lorna Robinson; 8 grandchildren; his brother Gordon and his wife Linda Robinson; sister-in-law Donna Robinson; sister-in-law Laura Wilson; many nieces and nephews and friends. Predeceased by his parents Alexander and Beatrice (Lawrence) Robinson; brothers Lorne, Roy, Brian and Stanley (in infancy) and sister-in-law Mary Jean Robinson. Born January 22, 1945, on a farm in West Luther Township, Wellington County, he made a living of his love of playing in the dirt by becoming an excavator operator, working for others until he started his own business, Chas Excavating. He loved his John Deere antique tractors and equipment. Deteriorating health forced his retirement at age 73, which gave him more time for his favourite past-time of catching up with “the gang” at Tim Hortons. A special thank you to the caring staff of Caressant Care Retirement Home in Fergus. Cremation will take place and Dad will be laid to rest with family at Greenfield Cemetery, Arthur in a private interment.
