Rotarians donate gazebo in Clifford

CLIFFORD - Local Rotarians met at the park at the traffic lights in Clifford on Sept. 11 to help set a new gazebo in place in Celebration Square.

The eight-sided, dual entrance gazebo built out of pressure treated lumber by Elam Weber of Stoney Ridge Sheds & Custom Building of Harriston was delivered by David Brown and Michael Martin.

Rotarians Bruce Kaufman, Frank Dickinson, Wes Gerber, and Nick Oleksandriw helped manoeuvre the structure onto the cement pad.

President Trish Palmer stated, “Clifford Rotary is happy to have donated this gazebo to Celebration Square. Hopefully it will be useful for many community activities throughout the year. Hydro will be connected soon and lights will be added. With loud speakers, it will be a great spot for speeches and musicians.’’

The Rotary bench designed and built by Andy Pridham of Weathered Minto was set beside the gazebo with additional seating to be discussed at a later date.

The Clifford Connects committee will be decorating the gazebo for fall and already have plans to deck out the gazebo in holiday fashion for Christmas.
