GUELPH/ERAMOSA – A snowmobile operator was sent to hospital after crashing into fencing attached to a home here on Thursday afternoon.

Wellington County OPP officials say emergency crews were called to "a serious collision" on Wellington Road 51 in Guelph/Eramosa at about 1:45pm on Feb. 23.

"It was reported that a snow machine had struck a home and the lone occupant was injured," police stated in a press release.

However, a brief OPP Twitter video of the scene appears to show the snowmobile actually struck lattice fencing attached to the home and not the house itself.

Police say the operator, a 29-year-old from Ariss, was transported to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Anyone who may have witnessed this collision can call 1-888-310-1122.
