BRUCEDALE  – Council has directed staff to erect new signage along Erin/Eramosa Townline, reducing speeds to 60 km/h.

Erin/Eramosa Townline is a boundary road between the Town of Erin and Guelph/Eramosa Township. Therefore, under the Highway Traffic Act the two municipalities were required to work together to ensure consistent posted speed limits along boundary lines.

According to a report presented to council on Oct. 6, township staff noticed a discrepancy between the speed limits posted by both parties. And after discussions with Town of Erin staff an agreed upon speed limit of 60 km/h was decided.

The township has decided on six new signs which will be posted shortly. According to the report, each sign will cost roughly $100 and the old signage will be saved for reuse at a future date. The new signs will be posted between Wellington Rd. 50 and Wellington Rd. 124 and 0.28 km north of Sideroad 32 to Wellington Rd. 50 along Erin/Eramosa Townline.
