STANNARD, Cody James Tyler
Born on February 27, 1996, in Fergus, Ontario, Cody brought joy and warmth into the lives of his family and friends. Tragically, on February 24, 2024, he departed this world, leaving a void that can never be filled. Cody, a beloved son to Tanya (Hans) and Brad (Kimberley) was a cherished brother to his siblings Felicia, Kirsten, and Curtis. His passion for lacrosse and hockey illuminated his life, and he excelled in the sport he loved, particularly in lacrosse where he played at a high level in Ontario and Alberta. Beyond his athletic prowess, Cody was known for his kindness, infectious humour, and a natural affinity with children. His love for cooking was a testament to his diverse interests and the joy he found in bringing people together through shared meals. Cody’s memory will forever be cherished by his family, including Grandparents, step brothers and sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, teammates and friends who were touched by his vibrant spirit. A Celebration of Life in honour of Cody is planned for August at the Elora arena, where memorials and dedications will be shared. Further details will be provided at a later date. In this difficult time, may the memories of Cody’s laughter, his love for sports, and the warmth he brought into the lives of those around him bring peace to those who mourn his untimely departure.
