STRISSEL, Lena (née Enns)
Peacefully passed away at GGH on Friday, July 12th in her 89th year. Wife to Heinz Strissel for over 46 years. Loving mother of Michelle (Andy), Ingrid (John), (late) Michael and Patty (Paul). Proud Oma to Scott (Alexis), James, Erika, Kyla (Hunter), Isaac (Brennan), Wade (Thalia), Jacob (Hayley), Zack (Kate), Ty and Luther. Loving Great-Oma to Eloise, Indie, Easton & baby Archer. Predeceased by parents Ann and Hank Enns, sisters Mary and Tina. Living sisters Susan, Ann and Betty (Pete). Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and extended family across Canada. She started her teaching career at the age of 18 in a one room schoolhouse in Manitoba. She lived and raised her family in many areas of Southern Ontario and retired in Fergus. Lena loved gardening, sewing, crocheting and was famous for her moon cookies at Christmas time. She loved the Lord and worked on many projects for the betterment of humanity, both here and overseas. She was a member at the Bethel Baptist Church. The family would like to express our sincere thanks to the amazing staff at Guelph General Hospital, Dr. Cassandra Graham and a special thank you to the ICU, 5th and 7th Floor Nursing Teams. Service will be held on Thursday, July 18th at 1:00pm at the Bethel Baptist Church, 675 Victoria Terrace, Fergus.
