Students work together for "There's Snow Thing Like a Cookie" event
Cookie sale - High school students and Centre Wellington District High School DECA members Gillian Golds, Josey Pletch and Halley Wettlaufer ran the cookie fundraiser event - entitled “There’s Snow Thing Like a Cookie” - on Dec. 12 at their former elementary school, James McQueen Public School in Fergus. Cookies were prepared by both James McQueen staff and DECA teachers, with a total of 21 teachers participating. Students could pay $2 to receive five cookies and over 1,100 cookies were provided. All proceeds went to the Food and Friends Program, which helps to provide lunches for students. Extra cookies were to be donated to the Centre Wellington Food Bank. FreshCo, Giant Tiger and Zehrs donated 12 boxes of cookies each, while Fraberts Fresh Foods and FreshCo each donated $50.
